hi,I'm about to change my provider and want to know if your system will recognise me if I type in my username and password or do I have to join a new? Also, how are membership ranks awarded? Who owns the server/site and who appoints moderators? I seem to have jumped from member to senior member very quicky after just creating several threads and posting on the threads of others-was this based on merit or just time without spam?
LevanChanging your service provider should make no difference to your CastleQuest access - this is managed using 'cookies' that are updated in your web browser.

On the other hand, if you were to change your computer, the only effect would be the history of your visits would be lost; your username and password would need to be entered manually the first time you use your new system. This is obviously a totally different scenario.

wurdsmiffYou automatically become a senior member after 12 posts. Ted Monk, aka 'The Scribe', owns and operates the site. He appoints moderators and acts as administrator.

Gordon.

Philip DavisIt's also worth mentioning that moderators are just ordinary members who volunteered to by moderators, they are not, in any way, paid or particuarly expert. I became a moderator to try to support Ted in providing this site and to very, very occasional and lightly exercise a touch of control to help the site be as useful as possible. The only real qualification that any of the moderators have is that they have shown a substained interest in the site. Several forums are still without moderators. If you were interested in being a moderator I suggest you post something along that line in the Comments and Suggestions forum.

In the end it is worth remembering that this is Ted Monk's site, it was his idea and he does bare the cost and, therefore, it is his choice who is appointed.
